Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The best new features in V Rising are also the easiest to overlook. After a two-year early access period, V Rising was finally released in its launch version on May 8, 2024. That came along with a huge launch update, which added tons of new content, features, and items to V Rising. New content is exciting, but the new features arguably have the biggest impact on the gameplay.
V Rising's Launch Update Allows Players To Respec Their Characters How To Build & Use The Altar Of Recollection In V Rising Close The most important feature in the launch update is V Rising's new Altar of Recollection, which allows players to respec their characters at will and absolutely free. Respeccing wasn't an option in the early access version of V Rising. Players were pretty much limited to whatever skills, spells, and vampire powers they ended up with.

From there, it's as simple as building the Altar of Recollection and interacting with it to reset spell points and choose new spells. Once the player activates it, they'll see a simple menu with options for all six of the magic schools in V Rising, along with a button that allows them to refund all the points they've invested in that school. They can then spend them again through the normal level-up window.
Still, both mechanics led to the player gaining new abilities in the end. Tracking V Blood Carriers with the Blood Altar would lead the player to a boss, which would net them a new spell or vampire ability. In much the same way, the Altar of Recollection lets the player reconfigure their spells.
