AIRASIA Philippines was looking to offer more direct flights to Boracay from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after the successful first edition of the diplomatic business forum, organized by the Global Tourism Business Association and hosted by the Boracay Malay local government unit last April 19, 2024.Attended by tourism stakeholders such as AirAsia and organized by the Global Tourism Business Association, the Boracay Business Forum aims to expand tourism opportunities in the island.
AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricardo Isla, one of the panelists in the event together with other airline representatives and ambassadors to the Philippines, said offering direct flights to Boracay would help ease congestion in the country's main gateway, Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
