Kota Kinabalu: The world-renowned Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon will be back this year after a seven-year hiatus.   Announcing this Tuesday, State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew said the premier event will take place on Oct 6 at Kinabalu Park.

“It embodies the unbeatable human spirit, endurance and the breath-taking beauty of Sabah. We eagerly welcome athletes from across the globe to tackle this formidable challenge and experience the magnificence of Mount Kinabalu. Celebrating its 31st edition, the upcoming event will feature three categories – Men’s Elite, Women’s Elite and Men’s Veteran . The challenging course spans 26km, with an elevation gain of 2,760 metres. Participants embark on a gruelling journey, covering 13.3km from start to midpoint and another 13.3km to the finish line – a true test of physical and mental endurance.
