- A freak badminton accident killed a 6-year-old girl while she was on vacation in Maine with her family, according to authorities.Authorities said the girl, identified as Lucy Morgan “was sitting on the sideline,” when a racquet broke on a downward swing by one of her siblings and a sharp piece from the racquet lodged into her skull.
Lucy was rushed to the hospital where part of her skull was removed to relieve the pressure in her brain.“After significant thorough testing and even more repeated tests to be certain, brain death was declared at 1:32 am on June 5, and her heart stopped beating around 4 am. Lucy was with Jesus,” In a blog post, he also shared that his wife had given Lucy a prayer journal last month. After her death, they found it in her backpack.
The first entry read, “God is so amazing and He is the true God and He created everything and He died on the cross for our sins.” Lucy’s father commented, “It’s almost as if God was writing with her, drawing her to himself.
