Jet2 has issued a warning to its passengers about potential 'delays' due to 'adverse weather conditions' affecting parts of Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean. The airline has cited Air Traffic Control slot delays as the cause and is advising passengers to allow extra time for their journey to the airport if they are travelling to an area experiencing poor weather.
This comes as the Balearic Islands are being hit by storms, with heavy rain also predicted for parts of mainland Europe including Austria, Czechia and Poland, according to accuweather.com. Yellow and amber warnings for heavy rain have also been issued for Spain's east coast, including Barcelona, Valencia and Alicante, reports the Manchester Evening News. "Our UK Based Operations team is working hard to minimise disruption to our flying programme, however, you may experience some disruption if you are travelling to/from areas affected. All Jet2.com flights are operating. Where possible we will board flights as close to on time as possible, this will allow us to to achieve a departure as soon as we are given clearance from Air Traffic Control. We apologise in advance if this causes an extended wait on board before you depart.
