Because of this, some travelers are opting for the road to avoid any possible delays, or worse, cancellations. "It is definitely inconvenient to have to wait in security lines number one, and number two, the amount of flights being canceled and delayed, it almost makes it like hard to get to where you are supposed to be on time," Carron said.JAX TSA Federal Security Director Greg Cahill says they are already seeing over three million travelers a day during this busy time of year.

"Breaking records is nothing new to us. Every month we continue, the TSA as a whole continues to break records with the number of travelers coming through our airport," he said. Cahill said to keep things smoother and more efficient at the airport, he recommends travelers pack wisely, minimize the amount of handheld luggage they have and not bring prohibited items."I'm sure you could get a flight from where we are to Florida for under 100 bucks each but it's just honestly not worth it," Carron said.
