Mallorca is a favourite with British tourists. Barcelona protest group the Neighbourhood Assembly for Tourism Degrowth has called for higher tourism taxes, reducing the number of cruise terminals and putting a cap on short-term tourist accommodation.Jordi Hereu, who previously served as Barcelona’s mayor, said the tourism sector needed to be regulated and diversified to make it more sustainable.
