Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said the organiser Persatuan Anak Tanjung Aru in collaboration with Sabah Big Bikers Association aimed at promoting Borneo as a tourism destination for bikers.

The journey will also cover 100 tourism attractions here, west and east coast, as well as the interiors of Sabah and Labuan. “Sabah government is indeed supporting non-governmental organisations I believe both organisers are able to promote tourism sector in the state,” he said, adding the expedition would also boost economic development in the state.Mohd Shafie’s speech was read by Assistant Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment minister Assafal Alian during the launching of the programme here.

“A programme like this is related to tourism and therefore should be empowered by opening it up at a national level for better economic opportunities," he said.
