Nationals MP George Christensen has blocked the release of a federal police probe into his visits to the Philippines.

The Queensland MP earned the nickname as "Member for Manila" after it emerged he'd taken 28 trips to the Philippines between 2014 and 2018.

Mr Christensen objected to the release of key documents relating to the probe, while the AFP refused to reveal details, and said it would involve the disclosure of personal information.
