NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Gary Worboys says “we are well and truly on schedule” for the Ruby Princess to depart Port Kembla on Thursday.

The virus-stricken cruise ship has been docked in Sydney’s south for more than two weeks while crew members were monitored on board for coronavirus symptoms.

Mr Worboys told Sky News some crew members from the Philippines were still due to disembark the ship after being cleared and determined fit to travel back to their home country but the ship remained on track to leave. He was confident the criminal investigation into the Ruby Princess debacle would not be hampered by the ship’s departure due to the evidence they have already gathered. “If we need to further expand that into the future, we can do that,” he said.

I'll be glad to never hear the name Ruby Princess ever again. I am sure though that they have already renamed it lol
