KOTA KINABALU: The state government should use different approaches and allocate different subsidies according to the types of tourism players in Sabah as not everyone is faced with the same problem amid Covid-19.

KiTA said the government should spend more time engaging with the diverse stakeholders in the tourism industry.

He said tourism products in the west coast of Sabah, such as Rumah Terbalik, catered to a different market segment compared to operators in the east coast such as Sandakan, Kinabatangan and Semporna," he added. "We need to lay down a set of standard operating procedures and accredit all tourism operators with a certain certificate when they adopt these SOPs," Yee said.

“We hope the Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry can match the sum and assist us, ” he said.
