Noting that not everyone faces the same problems during the worldwide health threat, KiTA said the state government should spend more time engaging with stakeholders to tailor specific aid to players in various locations in Sabah.
He reiterated the need for tourism players to restore the people’s confidence in travelling and rebrand their products as Covid-19-safe destinations, adding that Sabah has handled the pandemic well. “We hope the Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry can match the sum and assist us,” he added.
Sandakan Tourism Association president Teo Chee Kim said it is important to ensure that Sabah slowly becomes virus-free and give every visitor the confidence to visit the state again while strictly implementing the SOP.
