- The risk of exposure to the coronavirus on flights is very low, a U.S. Department of Defense study released on Thursday found, a positive sign for the airline industry as it tries to rebound from the pandemic’s crushing effect on travel.

When a seated passenger is wearing a mask, an average 0.003% of air particles within the breathing zone around a person’s head are infectious, even when every seat is occupied, it found. About 99.99% of particles were filtered out of the cabin within 6 minutes due to fast air circulation, downward air ventilation and the filtration systems on the aircraft.

The study estimated that to receive an infectious dose, a passenger would need to fly 54 hours on a plane with an infectious person.

What if the infected isn’t wearing a mask? I’ve had people on my flight with mask off for an hour claiming they are eating/drinking.

Hmmmm🤔

Oh, I just so wish I could believe this is true. Am sitting on thousands of air miles. But, sorry, I trust nothing like this, coming from Trump's people, period. With these rallies, he is trying very hard to encourage spreading the coronavirus as much and as far, as possible.

...but likelihood of being abused, discriminated against, harassed, kicked off, or banned for no good reason is very high

Sure it is....they know they'll have to pay the airlines big money soon...suddenly they're safe! smh.

I would love to have someone conduct this test with tuberculosis and see if they get the same conclusion 🙃

Exhale no!

Haha. But somehow realDonaldTrump rallies are still labeled “superspreader events”. SMH. End the social experiment now. Open America back up and stop this year-long Halloween party with the mask games

Absolute rubbish unfortunately

It is hard to believe.

Most planes are cargo. So, they’re about 93% safe overall.

so, we can open cafes with tables 2Mts apart...

Sure. Recycled air in a little aluminum bubble for ?how long?

Does anyone trust anything coming out of this administration?

Such lies just to save airline companies...What about the rests?

To be fair, the air on an airplane is washed and filtered 15 to 30 times an hour, 100% safe doesn't exist...but an airplane has fairly safe air.

Nobody who has been on a commercial flight will believe that

Not sure it’s sensible to trust the US to tell us what is safe given their performance against the virus.

Very low compared to a Trump rally ?

44 associated infections out of 1.2 billion passengers since the pandemic started! Shocking isn’t it?

sure, but the churches are highly contagious cancelthecurfew

So why would it not be safe to have our family at Thanksgiving? If we social distance and mask up, we should be fine.

Can we have a study from a non U.S. Org

But going to church or your local mom and pop shop is off limits... got it. We see you

Bullish

Fake - circulation separation

There is no logic, people a few inches each other with no risk and risks in places with a table between then.

Trust us

I find this incredibly hard to believe...

😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏

Which airline paid for this?
