While Ireland is still slowly moving forward with the lifting of Covid restrictions there is hope that we can see a serious return to normality in the coming months.
However while the Government is still warning against non-essential travel there are hopes that people will possibly get a chance to get abroad by the end of the summer.Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has publicly stated that he is strongly in favour of restoring free travel between Ireland and the UK. "They’re heavily vaccinated in Britain, incidence there is lower than here… so I think that might be the first step."
Minister for European Affairs Thomas Byrne has said he is optimistic that Irish people will be able to travel abroad this summer if the EU's digital green certificate initiative is established.
