However, with this, may come the realisation that your passport is now out of date and no longer valid, or maybe someone in your family doesn't have a passport.If you need to apply for or renew a passport right now, here's everything you need to know.The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The quickest way to apply for or renew your passport is to do it online.

At the moment according to the Department of Foreign Affairs , online renewals are taking around ten working days. If there is something missing from your application or the passport office is seeking further information, it can take upwards of 15 working days. First time applications made online are taking around 40 working days.
