U.S. gas prices have spiked to a record $4.619 per gallon — about 52% higher than prices from last year.

“I don’t think as many people are going to hit the road, and if they do, I think a good portion are going to be staying close to home,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, told“They’re definitely should be a noticeable bump, but my impression is people are not driving as far.

price gouging anyone?

Gas prices jump... People complain.... Drivers still drive fast.. Oil companies profits increase... Inflation continues.... Economy is good... People blame the government... Economy is good... Peeps will continue to pay... -This is called supply and demand

Canada About $7.00 usd or $8.40 cdn per gallon or 2.00 cdn per litre

We’re paying double that in NZ…you’re lucky

Over $8 a gallon in Australian. Our collective hearts bleed for you poor things 🙄

So much inflation, thank god the oil companies are still profitting hand over fist.

And why are you not calling out the oil cartel of Exxon, BP, Shell and Chevron for not increasing oil production?

Really? No this is not unique to the US. Why ? Gobal markets

I paid $10 today. Stop whining and buy smaller cars.

More money for shareholders and oil company executives

Locally gas had dropped to $4.19 over the past week and was still that price yesterday. Today it was $4.44, I'm sure it had nothing to do with Memorial Day and people traveling in massive numbers, right exxonmobil

Maybe you should check out the higher gas prices over in Europe!

Interesting that you don't mention the record profits of the oil companies

Gouging

Good. Now, let's cover record oil profits, shall we?
