As traveller volume increases, we have worked to build efficiencies and additional capacity at the border,” they said in a statement. “COVID restrictions and health requirements are continuously reviewed to ensure that they are current and relevant to protecting the health and safety of Canadians.
Specifically, an outbound screening committee is being created to address bottlenecks at pre-board security screening and pre-clearance departure checkpoints and develop new approaches to dealing with these “pressure points in the travel system.”

Sitting on the runway for 75 minutes waiting to get off the plane after a long 8 hour flight. They’re only letting a few passengers off at a time so that the custom lines aren’t too long. I just want to get off the plane! Pearson is a disaster especially for international travel.

Vaccination status is NOT the problem. Its the people not having their paperwork (showing proof) ready that is slowing down the lines. People do have a choice... just go to Buffalo if you want to avoid lineups. Case solved.

Pearson? The land borders are just as bad. 3-hour wait at the Rainbow Bridge. 5 booths working, 9, 9! closed. Trudeau has no plans of opening the border officer certification program up again. No workers are even in the pipeline. This will go on & on for a very long time.
The struggle is real. Over 2 hour wait to get though security for domestic flight this morning. Airport and federal government are extremely inefficient.
Flew out if Pearson a week ago. Our flight was 8pm. No long lines and we had our covid tests ready but never got asked. I heard the lines are in the morning not all day.

It’s not the testing, it’s the security backlog.
Travelled internationally last week. Testing is absolutely not the issue especially since it’s after you exit security and customs. Problem is lack of staff and duplication of waiting in multiple lines and showing same documents multiple times.
Crazy, I can go to the biggest arenas in Toronto with thousands of people around without a vaxxpass but will have to endure covid screening etc at airport. Doesn't make sense. StopTheTreaty

Watching the transport minister talk about how other countries have longer delays than Pearson. Not sure what airports he is referring to. We traveled to Spain, where the pandemic was quite severe. It took 15 minutes to go through immigration. The lineups were long but efficient

I just got through security and to my gate in 7 minutes. There was nothing time consuming about this experience.
