Global airlines yesterday, posted a strong recovery trend for the month of April, apparently undeterred by the war in Ukraine and travel restrictions in China. The surge was driven primarily by international demand.

The airlines, under the aegis of International Air Transport Association , announced that air travel total demand in April 2022 was up 78.7 per cent compared to April 2021 and slightly ahead of March 2022’s 76.0 per cent year-over-year increase.

IATA’s Director General, Willie Walsh, noted that with the lifting of many border restrictions, the industry was seeing the long-expected surge in bookings as people seek to make up for two years of lost travel opportunities. European carriers’ April international traffic rose 480.0 per cent versus April 2021, substantially up over the 434.3 per cent increase in March 2022 versus the same month in 2021. Capacity rose 233.5 per cent and load factor climbed 33.7 percentage points to 79.4 per cent.

International mayors, others join efforts to strengthen democracy | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World NewsIn partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), international mayors and municipal leaders will travel to the United States to develop action plans to strengthen democracy in their home communities with U.S.-based experts... Which Democracy? Is the one that's all about the ruling party and my party my party selfish interest? This political parties type of democracy can never solve our bad leadership issues because while the citizens want a good and competent person, the party wants a strong candidate. Core Political seats should be based on zoning with political parties removed. At least by so doing, we will have total control on who we want to lead us. Give us a non partisan democracy!
