Airlines are scaling back perks for frequent flyers and big spenders as travel roars back.

During the Covid pandemic, airlines allowed sidelined travelers to extend frequent flyer status.

The "preboarding" group includes members of United Global Services, an invitation-only status for top customers, and United Premier 1K, an upper-level tier in the airline's Mileage Plus frequent flyer program. "We feel like we're royals even though we're not rich at all," said Damaris Osorio, a 27-year-old based in New York who runs a vintage clothing business.

lesliejosephs Usually people are just trying to get to their flights. I don't know anyone who is hanging out at the airport lounge.

lesliejosephs This market sucks - they’re just killing options and flat dead market - this isn’t bullish - it’s BULLSHIT ! 🔥📉🔥🔥🤡🌍 $SPY $QQQ $SPX $AAPL $TSLA CNBC BLOOMBERG

lesliejosephs Airlines have trashed the frequent flyer programs as well as check-in and inflight services. You could hardly find anyone at premium check-ins. Good luck trying to find any human at check in counters AmericanAir.

Interesting. Government bails out industry. Industry post huge, if not record profits. Industry provides the worst service seen in a lifetime while raising prices. Now, they punish the consumers even more. Y playing games with perks.
