As Filipinos, particularly Catholics, go on vacation in light of the Holy Week, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) shared tips to help the public stay safe amid the Lenten season. | ManilaBulletin

* An Anti-Narcotics K9 of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency sniffs bags of passengers at a bus station along EDSA in Quezon City, April 4, 2023, during the Holy Week exodus where people trooped to bus stations to be able to go to their provinces. The deployment of anti-narcotics K9 units is part of PDEA's efforts to intercept illegal drugs being transported across the country. It is a preventive measure aimed at reducing the incidence of drug trafficking.

For those who will leave their homes unattended, the PCO reminded them to lock the doors and windows while securing important items in the house.Turn off lights and faucetsThe PCO reminded travelers to only bring important items for their trip and be alert of snatchers. They are also advised not to bring jewelry or a large amount of cash.

Private vehicle owners are reminded to check it before traveling. They are likewise advised to follow traffic signs and the speed limit.The PCO asked the public to take note of the locations of police assistance posts in terminals or stations, piers, or airports. This is where they can report suspicious activities in buses, trains, ships, or airports.
