Health Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire has also discouraged those who undertake self-flagellation and crucifixion rites as it may lead to body injuries.During a media briefing on Tuesday, Vergeire said that hospitals and health facilities are 'always prepared' whether during regular days or holidays such as the upcoming holy week long weekend.
Vergeire also said that they are anticipating increased cases of heat exhaustion and heat strokes, among others.'Equipped po ang ating mga ospital dahil hindi naman kailangan ng specialized services para gamutin or bigyan ng lunas ang mga ganitong insidente ,' Vergeire added.Meanwhile, Vergeire also said that the DoH is discouraging acts of self-flagellation and crucifixions on Good Friday as it can lead to complications such as tetanus, bruises, and broken bones.
