A Fine Gael TD has warned that the Passport Service must ensure they deal with incorrect or incomplete applications promptly to make sure those with travel plans avoid undue delays.

“I am now aware there appears to be an issue in the processing of first-time applications with images having to be sent back to the passport office, which is leading to inordinate delays for constituents that have contacted my office. “My office has been inundated with requests for help and I know some of my colleagues have had similar representations.
