The role of Community Policing Forums, neighbourhood watches and private security as force multipliers on the ground play a critical role in ensuring that their respective neighbourhoods are safe from criminals.
It is alleged that during the early hours of this morning, Kabega neighbourhood watch apprehended two suspects for the alleged murder and robbery of a 60-year-old man from Van Plettenberg Street in Kabega Park. At about 00:30, the suspects, aged 30 and 38, were stopped and upon searching their bags, they discovered a laptop, medicine container, cigarettes and meat.
Both suspects are detained on charges of murder, house robbery and possession of suspected stolen property. They are expected to appear in court soon.
