Prices at the Pumps - April 3, 2024 #saltwire #energymarkets #pricesatthepumps #gaspricesFREDERICTON, N.B. — The New Brunswick tourism industry is seeing boosts and new market opportunities coming with the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8.

"We’ve been watching the weather a lot,” said Sharon Johnston, tourism manager of the District of North Carleton and organizer of Eclipse NB. “There’s a lot of unknown to the planning events, but we’re feeling excited at the same time that we get this once-in-a-lifetime experience.”Pamela Brennan, owner of Shamrock Suites in Florenceville-Bristol, said she has a full house on April 7-8.

"We had our trial run at this time last year. It was really sunny and it was a nice day, so we've got our fingers crossed that the same thing happens this year," she said."This is going to be a really nice place to view it from."Tapping into astro-tourism “People weren’t aware of astro-tourism to the extent they are now because this eclipse has really brought a lot of attention to it,” he said. “We have so many operators and so many cottages, camping sites and campgrounds in dark sky areas, so it’s an ideal place for anyone who’s interested in astro-tourism to visit.”
