PTPTN chair: Personally, I’m also ‘uncomfortable’ with reimposing travel ban

National Higher Education Fund chairperson Wan Saiful Wan Jan has stressed that he personally, too, disagreed with the idea of bringing back the travel blacklist for those who defaulted on their student loan repayments.

“Honestly, I, too, am uncomfortable with the suggestion , but again, I stress that this were only proposals from a discussion between PTPTN and certain groups at a roundtable discussion. today, Wan Saiful also said the corporation chose to discuss all the suggestions received by stakeholders publicly so that Malaysians would be aware of what was discussed between PTPTN and a group of professionals.since it was revealed the fund was considering a proposal to reimpose a travel ban on loan defaulters.

During the media briefing, Wan Saiful said PTPTN was gathering feedback on the proposals to be presented to the cabinet for a final decision.from today to June 13.

Janji capati, PH menang batal ptptn...cakap tak serupa bikin!

I repeat my call for all top management and board members of ptptn to be replaced by fresh blood who has more nationalistic spirit with rakyat’s welfare in their minds. The current ones are just a bunch of overly paid finance and admin execs. Fire them.

Wow cool PH , thanks for KENCING.💦💦

Why, wansaiful? The bottom line is that loans have to repaid. Especially if the funds are drawn from public purse (taxpayers' funds). What's so difficult to understand here? It's not 'free money', Sir!..SyedSaddiq maszlee

'Sorry I'm not thinking before I talked about it'

Just do away with PTPN 1.2 billion is a lot of money.

Hutang tetap hutang, dan hutang wajib bayar. Kenapa yg liat nk byr dpt benefit, yg berdisplin byr, xdapat apa2 benefit..xadil disitu..maka, sy setuju segala sekatan pd yg liat byr, dicadangkn n dilaksanakan semula.Demi kemudahan anak2 masa hadapan.kwsp pun bolh bantu byr pinjaman

If no action, why not we all Malaysians re subsidize them again? Would you pay soneones else debt?

Before PRU ingatkan Saiful & IDEAS ni pandai sangat. Rupanya berlagak pandai je. wansaiful

The Federal Constitution says no person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty save in accordance with law. Ask Anwar Ibrahim and his gang of disputers why people who have defaulted loan repayments shouldn't be deprived of their personal liberty to travel overseas?

If travel to overseas to continue to study...I think it's OK. ..but when you don't pay but want to go overseas for holiday...I think something fishy here

Then why made the press conference with a UMNO supporter lady beside you..

Those who can afford to pay but decide to not pay should be punished. If not, PTPTN can never collect.

Syed Saddiq rejects any travel ban on PTPTN loan defaultersThe youth and sports minister says other ways must be found to ease PTPTN's burden and problems faced by graduates earning low incomes. No money to pay loan, yet still got money to travel. WTF 😂 No need to give excuses. Must ensure those who owe money to pay up. Let’s do it in a sensible way. Work out a repayment program with those owing money through deduction from the salary like taxes. They are in good jobs + earning money because of their education on borrowed money.
