New statistics released by Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland on Wednesday have revealed the most and least affordable coastal destinations across the country to buy a home.

New data from Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland has revealed the most affordable and most expensive coastal destinations in the UK.

For those who have always dreamed of living by the sea, the new research that has been released by Lloyds has revealed where you will get the most bang for your buck. According to the bank, Rothesay on the Isle of Bute is the most affordable coastal destination both in Scotland and the UK — with homes costing on average just £101,477.

Meanwhile, other affordable coastal destinations in Scotland include Greenock in Inverclyde and Girvan in South Ayrshire, where homes cost £107,111 and £107,349 on average respectively. Rounding out the top five on Lloyds' list are Millport on Great Cumbrae and Saltcoats in North Ayrshire, where you can expect to pay £113,622 and £115,372 for a home.
